With more and more states mandating shutdowns to slow the spread of COVID-19, the need for student devices has become greater than ever. There’s also a greater possibility of confusion and misinformation, so we want to make sure we’re clearly communicating updates during this critical time.
First and foremost, Firefly is still open and working. Our Minnesota governor announced an executive stay-at-home order for all non-essential businesses, but because of FireFly’s importance in helping schools deploy and manage school technology, we are considered a critical business and we will continue operating at full capacity during this shutdown.
At FireFly, we are taking proactive steps to ensure the health and safety of our team. Our office and sales staff are almost all working from home, and to allow for increased social distancing, our tech and warehouse teams are now working in split shifts. We’ve also given all FireFly employees increased paid sick leave so they can stay home if they feel sick or if anyone else they’ve been in contact with has become sick, and all hourly employees have received a pay increase.
We know a lot of schools are going through tough changes right now trying to figure out how to shift to a distance-learning strategy. We want to let you know our entire FireFly team is thinking about you and doing our best to meet your challenges in whatever ways we can. Please continue reaching out to us with any technology needs as you work through this difficult situation. We are here for you.
If you’re currently looking for helpful distance-learning resources, we’ve assembled a brief list of valuable tools available from our partners Google, GoGuardian, and Lightspeed Systems. Please contact your FireFly Account Manager to take advantage of these programs.
Thank you for being a valued part of our FireFly Family.
